It is reported from Hazrat Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه): “Whoever lights a lamp in a masjid, or spreads a carpet in it, as long as that lamp gives light or that carpet remains spread, seventy thousand angels continue to seek forgiveness for him.”
